My friendly neighborhood comic store has been without a cat for nearly a year and a half, since Pia died. When I went in on Thursday for my weekly buying expedition...there were two! One a small kitten, a tortoiseshell, and the other a brindled gray, her mother. They both seemed pretty friendly. The gray was probably a house pet who was abandoned when she became pregnant.
The tortoiseshell already has an unbearably cute thing where she likes to hide under the wheeled cart but doesn't realize that her hind legs and tail are sticking out.
I need to see if I can get some pictures up....
No names for them yet. I think they ought to be called Blastaar The Living Bomb-burst and Annihilus The Death That Walks, but for some reason Rory doesn't agree. (They could be Star and Ann for short.)

Date: 2005-07-10 12:40 am (UTC)I'd forgotten about Liberty Belle and Jesse Quick. What was Liberty Belle's real name?
I seriously suggested Susan and Valeria; also I went outside of comics to Shakespeare for Thaisa and Marina or Hermione and Perdita. Of course, Hermione is sort of taken these days. Rory says that none of these sing to him, though.
I'm contemplating trying to foment a grassroots movement among the Comic Relief staff for Blastaar and Annihilus, because I just think those names are cool.
